God placed a desire of significance in us. That's what gives us the drive to strive for improvement and even consider making certain sacrifices for the betterment of our results. The enemy has been using rivalry and glory hunger to control that natural God-given inclination. He started planting the wrong seeds in the Garden of Eden and he continues to torment us with pride and self-seeking ambitions. God's perfect plan for us is the right one and the way to pursue it can only be possible with the help of the Holy Spirit. A healthy approach through humble prayers will get us there while aggressiveness will simply exhaust us or cause us to pick fruit from the wrong tree. We'll always be disillusioned if we are aiming to be good enough or as good as someone else. However, if our focus remains on Christ only, we'll find that our own efforts have already failed us in the past and will continue to fail without His divine guidance.

Philippians 2: 5- 8 explains, "Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted; but emptied Himself by assuming the form of a bond-servant; and being made in the likeness of men, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross."(Amplified Bible) If we try to compare our own attitude with Christ's measure of humility, we'll remain humble, therefore we'll be ripe and ready for God's help. The minute we believe we're humble enough, we've already lost it. Remain in Him.
